There is plenty in the news about the “Great Resignation.” Today, that conversation is turning into the “Great Regret.” Employers have much to learn and think about from this unprecedented job turnover rate. Researchers at McKinsey & Company say that employees are just simply tired. They’re tired of the daily grind without being able to point to a purposeful outcome. What was an act of defiance might be turning into regret. Sitting between these two extremes may be the answer.
What about the “Great Opportunity?” What opportunities will help propel the swing of the metaphoric pendulum from a mass exodus and regret to growth and opportunity? What can both sides of this equation (the employer and the employee) learn from the past couple of years, and how can they evolve?
